U.S. Gypsum Plants

New York Asbestos Lawyer Representing The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens & More

The use of asbestos was once common in building construction, and many workers who helped manufacture building materials were exposed to asbestos through their own products, which later resulted in mesothelioma or lung cancer.

New York attorney Joseph P. Williams has helped a number of workers from New York and across the country who have had to cope with the devastating effects of asbestos exposure. His efforts have landed him a spot in the Top 100 National Trial Lawyers.

GYPSUM & ASBESTOS

Founded in 1901, the U.S. Gypsum Company was once the nation’s leading producer of products containing gypsum.

Gypsum products included:

  • CEILING PANELS
  • FLOOR SYSTEMS
  • JOINT TAPES
  • FINISHING PRODUCTS
  • INSULATION BOARDS
  • INDUSTRIAL MOLDING PLASTER

Unfortunately, many of these products also contained asbestos. As a result, many workers at U.S. Gypsum plants and facilities unknowingly came in contact with asbestos and decades later developed mesothelioma or lung cancer.

U.S. Gypsum maintained four plants in New York that are known to have utilized asbestos:

  • U.S. GYPSUM PLANT IN THE BRONX
  • U.S. GYPSUM PLANT IN NEWBURGH, NEW YORK
  • U.S. GYPSUM PLANT IN GRASSY POINT, NEW YORK
  • U.S. GYPSUM PLANT IN STONY POINT, NEW YORK

CLAIMING YOUR RIGHTFUL COMPENSATION

As a result of the large number of lawsuits filed against U.S. Gypsum for asbestos exposure, the company filed for bankruptcy in 2001. In 2006, the bankruptcy court established the Asbestos Personal Injury Settlement Trust to help innocent victims of asbestos exposure pursue compensation for their medical conditions.

IF YOU OR A FAMILY MEMBER WAS DIAGNOSED WITH MESOTHELIOMA, OR IF YOU WORKED AT A U.S. GYPSUM PLANT AND LATER DEVELOPED LUNG CANCER, PLEASE CALL OUR NEW YORK ASBESTOS LAWYER AT 855-575-MESO (6376) TO LEARN ABOUT YOUR RIGHTS TO COMPENSATION FROM U.S. GYPSUM.
